On Off On - Interview

Shameless re-posting of other peoples fine investigative efforts is what music blogging is all about. Right? Well maybe not, but this collection of remixes by On Off On may be just too good to ignore. Check it out here Welikeit.indie.

We caught up with the artist himself in a mini email interview, enjoy it after the jump

tis.com: What made you start remixing?

On Off On: I started about a little over a year ago when I got the idea to mix a bunch of my favorite Daft Punk songs together. It was just something to do out of boredom but I played it for some friends and they all enjoyed it. Their positive reaction gave me the drive to start remixing more of my favorite songs.

tis.com: How would you describe your style?

On Off On: Well I am strongly influenced by the new and old electro scene and would definitely classify my music as electro or electro house. Recently I have grown tired of the standard four on the floor beat that seems to be the standard for most electro remixes so I have been trying to change it up and go into a more “funky electro” style using more elaborate beats and rhythms.

tis.com: Who would you most like to do a set with?

On Off On: Well of course Daft Punk is the most obvious answer for the simple fact that without them I wouldn’t be doing remixes or the style of electronic music I do now. Besides them I would have to say that doing a set with Sebastian would be a bit of a dream come true.

tis.com: What next?

On Off On: Just trying to get my name out there and keep making music that I enjoy. I hope to start playing bigger shows and get my songs and remixes out to as many people as possible!

Hopefully we hear alot more from On Off On in the future! till then check him out online, or live if you are in LA
